James “Koe” Rodriguez is a 37 year-old visual artist, writer, and acknowledged Hip-Hop Scholar. The Jersey City native’s creative works have appeared in published books, international publications, TV and film, and select gallery group shows. In addition, he has acted as a Photojournalist, Urban Documentarian, Curator, and entrepreneur who has been instrumental in the advancement and preservation of Hip-Hop culture for well over two decades. Rodriguez’s latest project is a compelling documentary film on legendary New York photographers Ernie Paniccioli, Jamel Shabazz and Joe Conzo entitled 1 LOVE. He is also developing his first book entitled For The Love which documents his visual and written memoirs of some 20 + years on the photographic grind. Rodriguez’s film credits include: JUST FOR KICKS (2005), ALL OUT WAR (2008), and BIG PUN: THE LEGACY (2008). He lives and works in New Jersey.
