What you need to know about me:
Melissa is a young American Latina of Ecuadorian descent, born and raised in Union City, New Jersey. Melissa graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (television/radio) and overcame her tough neighborhood by staying busy. She excelled school and in extracurricular activities such as softball, cheerleading and dance (hip-hip and jazz). Not one to rest on her laurels, Melissa completed a total of three internships in pursuit of her television career including one at her university where she produced a show entitled “Open Minds” in which she eventually hosted. She’s also interned at Radio Disney and Creative Entertainment Connections, a talent representation company. In addition to hosting special segments and promotions for American Latino TV and LatiNation, Melissa spends her 9-5 days as the shows’ Production Coordinator and she is an NBA All Star Cheerleader and a WNBA dancer for the New York Liberty. This multi-talented, fit, energetic and ambitious American Latina believes that staying busy with a variety of projects is the best way to achieve success and is up for every challenge.

The stuff I’m obsessed with:
I'm so obsessed with chocolate, When I'm having a bad day all I need is a Kit-Kat or a bag of m&m's and it really makes my day

What I can’t live without:
I can't live without dance and music its my form of expressing myself even when I can't. It's my cheap therapy of 2 hours where I can't figure things out and a listen to a great song or take a good dance class and I put things into perspective. And even when I cant figure it all out it just makes me feel so damn good.
